Terms and Conditions for rental period.

This is our motorhome rental terms and conditions – a contract between you and us if you choose to rent your RV from us. 

Required documents

When renting a caravan, it is necessary to present a valid driver’s license and a passport.

Rented caravans can be driven by persons at least 23 years of age who hold a category B driving license for driving experience minimum 3 years. The Vehicle may only be driven by the Renter and the drivers named at the rental agreement.

Motorhome booking

The booking fee for the caravan is 300 EUR. To confirm the booking, we accept the receipt of the booking fee paid to Holidayrentals‘ account FI98 3939 0052 8702 50.

The renter can also pay the booking fee via Stripe or Paypal.

If the customer cancels the reservation, the customer is held responsible for the booking fee, and Holiday Rentals will not refund the booking fee.

Security deposit

The renter of the caravan must pay a security deposit of EUR 300, which will be refunded upon termination of the contract and in case of compliance.

If you make an order through our booking system, a security deposit is included in the price. 

Motorhome rental period and mileage

The minimum rental period for motorhome rentals is two days (during the high season, the minimum rental period is 5-7 days). The high season period is from June 1 to September 1. If the motorhome is returned more than 1 hour after the previously agreed time, the one-day rental fee may be deducted from the deposit.

Therefore, we recommend that you inform the rental company at a suitable time of any changes to the time or place of returning the RV.

If the vehicle is returned before the expiry of the agreed rental period,  the client must pay the full rental charge unless we can rent out the vehicle to someone else. The caravan’s mileage is limited to 300 km per day and 2100 km per week. Each additional km costs 0.25 € cents unless otherwise agreed between the parties.

Motorhome rental prices

Rental prices include the cost of oils, maintenance, mandatory motor third-party liability insurance, and fully comprehensive insurance. However, the rental price does not include the cost of car fuel and gas.

Gas is included, but this is your responsibility if you need to replace an empty bottle during your rental period.

Payments

The rental amount is usually paid immediately before the start of the rental period. It is possible to pay by bank transfer, credit card, PayPal, and cash.

Insurance

Motorhome rental prices include accident insurance at the lessee’s deductible of 500 EUR. You are responsible for any damage to windscreens and windows, punctures, or other damage to tires during the rental period.

In case of a motorhome theft, the renter must present the car keys and the vehicle registration certificate.

In an accident, be sure to report it to the police and obtain written proof from them for insurance.

You must also contact the rental company immediately (you can find contact numbers in the rental agreement).

Validity of the contract

Even if you have not read or understood, any signed agreement is binding. We always recommend that you read the terms and conditions carefully before signing the contract and, if necessary, specify them. Subsequent claims will not be satisfied or will be settled in court.

Driving outside Finland

It is not allowed to travel outside the European Union with the rented motorhome. The respective wish to coordinate in writing with the rental company at least 14 days before the rental period.

The Holiday Rental’s Vehicles can be equipped with Tracking Systems.

Car condition

The motorhome will be handed over to you refueled, washed, and in good technical condition.

We recommend inspecting it carefully and noting down any damage (including scratches) when you receive the car. Otherwise, you may be liable for any damage that may have occurred in the car before.

The lessor is not liable for damages that may result from the breakdown of the motorhome and if the trip is interrupted or delayed due to the above.

If the breakdown occurs during the rental period, the lessee may request a corresponding discount if the lessor fails to prove that he has done everything in his power to keep the vehicle in good condition.

Fuel

We will hand over the car to you with a full fuel tank. If you return the caravan with a tank that is not full, a contractual penalty of EUR 200 will be added to the rental fee. The Lessee shall compensate for the damage caused by an incorrectly refueled fuel tank.

Car transfer and return

The rental period starts at 17:00 on a rental day and ends at 17:00 on the end day of the rental period unless otherwise agreed.

The caravan must be returned with the interior cleaned thoroughly, the toilet cartridge emptied as it was at the start of the rental period.

Exterior cleaning is not required to be done by the renter. The lessor has the right to demand the money for cleaning if the motorhome has not been cleaned by the renter well enough. The price of cleaning is 120 EUR (including emptying of sewage tanks).

When returning the car, the lessor and the lessee shall inspect the car together. Defects that did not exist at the start of the rental period and which cannot be considered as normal wear and tear will be compensated by the renter according to the price list of the car dealership.

If the renter does not return the motorhome on time, the lessor has the right to demand a double rental fee for the delayed days.

Claims from third parties

All claims from third parties caused by the renter and/or motorhome users during the rental period (eg traffic violations, parking fines, late payment decisions, car transfers, etc.) are also to be fully reimbursed by the renter and/or car users afterward.

Other

Pets are not allowed in the car (unless otherwise agreed), and it is not permitted to smoke inside the Vehicle. In case of violation of the requirements, a contractual penalty of 800 EUR is applicable.

The Hirer must bear cleaning expenses caused by non-compliance with regulations. In addition, the Renter shall also pay for any costs incurred by de ventilation or the elimination of contamination with smoke, including lost profits resulting from temporary non-availability of the Vehicle for hire owing to these circumstances.

If we can provide evidence of a violation of the provisions, the Rental Company may terminate the lease without notice.

What to do in the event of an accident

After an accident, theft, or damage by fire or collision with a wild animal, the client must inform the police immediately and the rental station (for Telephone Number see the rental contract), at the first opportunity, but not later than after the working day following the day of the accident/incident. It is not permitted to accept any third-party claims as valid.

Even in the case of slightest damage, the renter must prepare a detailed written report for the Rental Company, including a sketch. If, for whatever reason, the renter fails to draw up such a report and if the insurance company refuses to pay the damage, the Hirer shall be obliged to pay total compensation for the damage.

The accident report must, in particular, include the names and addresses of anyone involved and any witnesses, together with the license numbers of all vehicles involved, and has to be over handed filled out and signed by drop off latest towards Rental Company.

Equipment

Bed linen and pillows are NOT provided with the motorhome as standard. We offer mattress protectors; however, we require you to use sheets on top of these. You must provide your own or rent them from us with an extra fee. (You can select this option in the booking process.)

The motorhome is equipped with all the kitchen equipment you need, plates, knives, forks, spoons, and other standard equipment for all guests, so you don’t have to bring any extra.

The motorhome is equipped with a bike rack for two bikes, 10m long electrical cable, and a big sunroof and outdoor dining table, chairs, and grill during the summer months.

The motorhome is equipped with anti-theft devices. In addition, all motorhomes are equipped with new winter tires and windscreen covers to keep the motorhome warm during the winter.

Traveling with pets

You must declare pets at the booking stage. Only pets that we confirm are acceptable may be taken into our caravans. However, pets must never be left alone within our caravans. Any damage caused by your pets will be charged to you.

Things to bear in mind when holidaying with pets

  • If your pet doesn’t travel well in the car, you may need to book something closer to home or plan a few stops en route.
  • Be sure to bring your pet’s favorite toys, blankets, etc., to help reduce the stress of your pet staying in a brand-new location.
  • Research the local area before you travel. For example, it’s always important to check if dogs are allowed on the nearby beaches all year round.

Your responsibilities

  • You must look after the vehicle and the keys to the vehicle. When returning the RV to us, you are responsible for ensuring you have handed the keys over to one of our representatives.
    You must always lock the vehicle when you are not using it. You must always protect the vehicle against bad weather, which can cause damage. You must make sure that you use the correct fuel. You are responsible for any damage to the vehicle caused by hitting low-level objects, such as bridges or low branches. (Vehicle measurements are shown under the driver’s visor if you are unsure).
  • You must ensure you check water and oil levels and watch gauges in the vehicle. If you feel the vehicle is not running correctly, it is your responsibility to pull the vehicle over and contact us immediately. YOU MUST NOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE IF YOU THINK IT IS LOW IN WATER OR OIL.
  • You must not sell, rent or dispose of the vehicle or any of its parts.
    You must not give anyone any legal rights over the vehicle.
  • You must not let anyone work on the vehicle without our permission.
    If we permit you, you will only receive a refund if you have a receipt for the work.
  • You must let us know as soon as you become aware of a fault in the vehicle.
  • You must bring the vehicle back to the place agreed, at the time agreed, and remain responsible for the vehicle until this time. Our representative must see the vehicle to check that it is in good condition.
